Surf's Up! VML Adult Summer Reading Program 2006






SURF'S UP! Catch a wave and get ready to read! The adult summer reading program at VML will take place June 19 - July 28. The first 100 to sign up will get a cool Surf's Up! tote bag when they register. Prizes, Programs and Fun! More information to come soon!

VML Brown Bag Book Discussion Group Update


The book for the June 21st meeting has been changed to Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel. The Library will be providing lunch for this months meeting. We will also be watching scenes from the film. There is a limit of 15 seats. You must preregister by June 19. If you have not preregistered you will not be able to attend this meeting. Adult Craft Party

Join us on June 14 at 4pm for the Adult Craft Party. We will be making blank jounals. All materials are supplied by the library. There is a limit of ten people for this program, so sign up today by visiting the circulation desk at VML or Calling 989.773.3242 x10. The program takes place in the Library Annex Meeting Room. Holiday Closure at CRDL

Veterans Memorial Library and all branch libraries of the Chippewa River District Library System will be closed on Monday, May 29 for Memorial Day. VML will also be closed on Sundays for the summer starting May 28. Sunday hours will resume September 10, 2006.

SRP Teen Nite

Summer Reading Program (SRP) runs from June 19 - July 28. Teens in grades 7 and up are invited to bring a friend and an appetite while the library provides the snacks and activities. Times vary and pre-registration is required for some events. Please look for more information at your library!
  • Veterans Memorial Library: Tuesdays 6:00 or 7:00pm.
Please note that there will be no Teen Nite at Veterans Memorial Library on Tuesday July 4. The library will be closed due to the holiday.

SRP Kid Stuff

Summer Reading Program (SRP) runs from June 19 - July 28. Join us for crafts and activities designed for kids in Kindergarten and up. Younger children should bring an adult helper. Times and locations are as follows:

  • Faith Johnston Memorial Library: Fridays 11:45am-12:30pm
  • Coe Township Libray: Thursdays 2:00-2:30pm

  • Weidman Public Library: Wednesdays 3:45-4:30pm

SRP Family Film Fest

Enjoy big screen movies for kids and their adults during Summer Reading Program, June 19-July 28. Movies will be shown at Veterans Memorial Library on Mondays from 2:00-4:00pm. Bring your beverage and enjoy popcorn provided by the Library.

SRP Drop-In Storytimes

Summer Reading Program (SRP) runs from June 19 - July 28. Join us for a new Drop-in Storytime each week during SRP at these times and locations. This storytime is for preschool age children. (Large groups please pre-register by calling 773-3242.)

VML Brown Bag Book Discussion Group

The VML Brown Bag Book Discussion Group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 12:00pm. Book discussions are held in the Library Annex Meeting Room. Upcoming book discussions are:
